It helps to move on
We each have a very short amount of time to live on this planet. For some, it’s unfortunately shorter than others, but even 100 years isn’t that significant in the long-run. Because of this, we have to live our lives to the fullest. We shouldn’t get so hung up on the little things.
Moving on can be hard because sometimes our brains won’t let us think of anything other than that one person, that one time we messed up, or that one trial we’re facing. It can be really difficult to think of something else, but it is possible.
It is usually easiest to get over things through a distraction. While there is such a thing as good distractions, we typically choose the bad ones.
Listening to sad music, eating chocolate and lazing about can only help to an extent. Dragging out situations is a waste of time and energy. Being hateful and vengeful will only make things worse.
The best way to get over the past is to find a distraction that improves some aspect of your life. Go outside, get some fresh air. When was the last time you walked your dog? Go ahead, start a new TV show (just don’t be sad and binge-watch.)
Try a new hobby. Pick up a Rubiks Cube, start a 1,000-piece puzzle, create an art journal. Do something that edifies rather than harms.
Sometimes moving on requires getting out of toxic relationships, and it is completely okay to leave people who are hurting you, even if it’s your closest friend.
Moving on with life as quick as possible will help you to clear your mind and be a happier person. We have so little time, so spend the time you have doing what you want to do and being who you want to be.

Thank you. This really opened up my eyes. I think I’m finally ready to move on.
