The annual Bystander Intervention Training by Jana’s Campaign was held Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24.
The training teaches students the signs that someone is in a harmful relationship and the methods to help them. This training was provided to freshmen during their Freshmen Success Seminar. More than 200 students attended the training this year.
“Our hope is that they take what they have learned and have the resources and knowledge they need to help when they are called to do so throughout their time at Hays High and beyond,” Jana’s Campaign sponsor Ashley Kanzenbach said.
This is Kanzenbach’s first year as the sponsor, and the group has been busy this year with many different events.
“I feel so privileged to get to learn alongside these young women and men,” Kanzenbach said. “I get to hear what incredible ideas they have that will make a positive impact in our community and the lives of victims.”
