The Hays High School FFA chapter banquet was held on May 3 at the school.

At the banquet, members of FFA were recognized for their accomplishments throughout this school year and were celebrated by their peers, families and some FFA alumni.

During the school year, students in FFA can apply for awards, scholarships and officer positions. Winners of high points awards and senior scholarships were revealed, and officer positions for next school year were also announced. On the officer team will be the following:

President: junior Marisa Wasinger

Vice President: sophomore Lizzy Vajnar

Secretary: sophomore Ella Neher

Treasurer: sophomore Keeli Kimzey

Reporter: junior Kara Bemis

Sentinel: freshman Jayleigh Weilert

Student Advisor: freshman Logan Leiker

“I think the banquet went really well overall,” Wasinger, who is the current vice president, said. “It was organized and went smoothly throughout the night. We had a lot of kids getting awards, and it is always fun to see what everyone gets.”
