Spring Play cast list announced

Auditions for Hays High School’s Spring Play, “Daddy’s Girl,” took place on Wednesday, Dec. 13 and Thursday, Dec. 14. The cast list was then released that Friday, Dec. 15.

The main cast list consists of the following:

Junior Caleb King as Benard

Senior Calvin Moore as Bob

Sophomore Connor Werth as Walter

Junior Elizabeth Noble as Maudie

Junior Addy Brull as Betsy

Senior Atlas Seib as Michael

Junior Jordan Aschenbrenner as Darlynn

Junior Katelyn Willemsen as E. L.

Junior Oscar Flores as Alex

Sophomore Rose Windholz as Daisy

Junior Clare Tholstrup as Violet

Senior Brooke Leiker as Lizzy

Senior Calliope Green as Big Earl Ella

Auditioning were 17 girls and seven boys, but only eight girls and five boys were cast. Because so many people were cut, Bill Gasper, director of the play, said he plans to possibly include side skits that will take place during the play that some of those who weren’t cast could take part in.

The play will be performed March 7-9 at 7 p.m. each evening at 12th Street Auditorium.

“I am probably most excited for the friends and family-like bond that will be made,” junior Addy Brull said. “I also am so excited to work on a comedy show because it’s a new challenge not many of us in cast have done.”
