On Thursday, Feb. 2, the Hays High School Scholars Bowl team competed at the regional competition in Maize South.

There were 17 teams total, with seven teams in Pool A and 10 in pool B. Hays High competed in Pool A.

The varsity team placed seventh with a total of about 100 points, averaging 10 to 11 points per round.

“I’ve been on varsity for two years now,” senior Tony Arial said. “I believe it is just super fun to hang out with my friends and go to tournaments to answer questions. I don’t feel too bad about it being my last year, but I will miss it a little bit.”
