Armed Services Vocational test held at Hays High
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) was held Wednesday, Nov. 30 in the library.
The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude test that measures differing abilities to predict success in the military.
There are eight sections to the test, including General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, Electronics Information, Auto Information and Shop Information.
According to www.asvabprogram.com., the ASVAB is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school and post-secondary students. You can retake the test as many times as you want, and the test score is valid for up to two years.
“I have always wanted to join the military,” junior Saige Herl said. “On weekends, me and some friends go and work out with Marines. Enlisting will also allow me to travel to new places.”
