Freshmen elect Student Council positions

On Wednesday, Aug. 31, the freshman class at Hays High School voted on its Student Council class president and vice president positions.

After the votes were counted, the president elected was freshman Connor Werth, and the vice presidents elected were freshmen Kennedi Fischer and Jenna Kisner.

“I ran for student president because of my love for Student Council and being a leader,” Werth said.

The officers’ first big event for this year is Homecoming, which includes organizing class T-shirts and building their parade float.

“I am thinking about running for vice president again next year because freshman year as an officer is more of a year to learn, and I am excited at the possibility of leading more next year,” Kisner said.
