During the spring semester, Quill and Scroll will be hosting a book drive for gently used or brand-new books to benefit area services.

Quill and Scroll is a journalism honor society, like National Honor Society, but just for journalism students.

At their meeting on Feb. 10, the group members divided into a Donation Committee, Box Committee and Publicity Committee.

When the drive begins, students and staff members can bring books to either an English classroom or the journalism classroom. At the end of the drive, the room with the most books collected will win a prize.

“We chose a book drive as our semester project because we believe that, by hosting a book drive, we are able to impact the lives within our community who may not have these resources accessible to them otherwise,” senior Brenna Schwien, Quill and Scroll president, said.
