Hays High collects food for Community Assistance Center
Organizations across Hays helped collect food for the Community Assistance Center on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hays High Student Council, National Honor Society and DECA all participated in the event.
The clubs split up into smaller groups and went door to door from 13th Street to 21st Street, asking for and collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the Community Assistance Center.
“I feel like it was important for Student Council to help collect food because it gets us involved in the community and shows our heart for our community,” senior StuCo public relations officer Jersey Johnson said. “A big part of StuCo is bringing people together to get involved, and this was definitely an amazing opportunity to do that!”
