Student device turn-in coming up in May

Hays High School will have computer check-in for seniors, held on Monday, May 10 and Tuesday, May 11 during their Guided Personal Study blocks. As for the rest of the students, computer check-in will be held on Monday, May 17 and Tuesday, May 18.

All students will need to check in their computers and chargers and have their student IDs with them. If students need their computers throughout the whole day, they need to contact their PRIDE time teacher and/or counselor to let them know ahead of time so they can make arrangements on when to turn in their computers.

“I think computer check in will be a lot easier this year because we won’t have to do last year’s routine again,” senior Ethan Huff said. “I’m just happy to be a senior because I can leave and check in all my stuff ahead of time.”

Last year, due to COVID-19 precautions, computer check-in was held Wednesday, May 6 for the seniors and juniors. At this time, the check-in was in the gym, and students were supposed to go to their designated tables. Sophomores checked in their computers on May 11, and freshmen checked in their devices the following day.

“This year with computer check-in, I’m happy I get to turn in my device early since we can leave the building as seniors sooner,” senior Abigail Werth.
