Local college students sell Krispy Kreme Donuts as fundraiser
The Zeta Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity is selling Krispy Kreme donuts until April 16 to raise money for local activities and trips. They are hoping to raise more than $1,200.
“Normally, we have two events, convention every two years and PBLI (Principled Business Leadership Institute) every year,” member Rebekah Porter said. “These allow brothers to connect with other chapters and work on their professional development.”
In order to help to fund these trips, the organization is selling the donuts.
“I’ve seen other groups selling Krispy Kreme donuts and how much success they’ve had with it so, when fellow brothers mentioned they wanted to sell donuts, I decided to look into it and make it happen,” Porter said.
Sales have been going on since April 5.
“I do not know yet how much everyone has sold, but it sounds like everyone feels good about the fundraiser so far,” Porter said.
Each member is responsible for delivering their own donuts, so they get to decide how wide a radius to sell to. Deliveries will be made on April 27.
