Students anticipate quarterly Breakfast of Champions
Breakfast of Champions is set to take place Wednesday, March 17 to celebrate the students who have kept a grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 or above during the third nine weeks. The end of the third nine weeks was Friday, March 12.
“I think Breakfast of Champions is a great way to reward students for the hard work they have put in for the nine weeks,” senior Claire Shippy said. “It is nice being able to get out of class for a little while.”
Like Shippy, sophomore Chase Wittman said he enjoys Breakfast of Champons.
“I love the Breakfast of Champions,” Wittman said. “It is a better breakfast than cereal in the mornings, and I enjoy socializing with my friends.”
Breakfast of Champions is sponsored by the Academic Booster Club and includes a free breakfast for the students, including cinnamon rolls, bagels, fruit, juice and milk.
“I do enjoy Breakfast of Champions because it encourages me and my friends to all get good GPAs so that we can all enjoy breakfast together,” junior Cassidy Wilkie said. “I don’t think that it is necessarily a good recognition tactic because no one really knows who gets it, unless you are there and see them. It is good motivation, though.”
The students who have achieved a GPA of 3.3 or above are called down to the cafeteria grade by grade to have breakfast with others.
“I think that Breakfast of Champions is important because it rewards students for their work,” sophomore Avery Harmoney said.
