As both students and school leaders begin planning for the remaining few months and the upcoming school year, Xello will be very useful, especially for pre-enrollment.

According to Xello’s website, “Xello provides district-wide access to an engaging, online program that helps K-12 students define their future and goals to transform their aspirations into actionable plans for success. The program puts students at the center of their college and career planning experience. Students and educators can login anywhere, at any time, on any device, with unlimited access to online resources.”

“I believe Xello is better than Career Cruising that we used last year because Xello keeps everything more organized and easier to find things to complete,” junior Carl Denny said. “Dealing with Career Cruising, a lot of people dreaded looking through everything and trying to find certain things assigned.”

On Feb. 18 during PRIDE Time, freshmen, sophomores and juniors focused on their pre-enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year.

“For the most part, Xello is simple and easy, but the student enrollment was a little bit confusing, though,” freshman McKenna Murphy said. “Xello is easy to navigate and find what you need to find.”

In addition to helping students to plan their classes for next year, the session was also meant to prepare them for Student-Led Conferences.

“Xello is a lot easier to work with rather than Career Cruising,” junior Ebba Debelo said. “I don’t think Student-Led Conferences are necessary because those goals that you put on at that time wouldn’t be the same later on in life.”

Student-Led Conferences will be held on March 16 and 17. During this time, students will meet with their PRIDE Time teacher and their parent(s) or guardian(s) about the classes they enrolled in, plus their educational and career goals.

“I like Xello more than Career Cruising because it is pretty straightforward, and Xello helps a little bit when planning a future career path because it helps eliminate some careers that I was considering before,” sophomore Evan Lind said.
