Quarterly Breakfast of Champions to take place Oct. 28
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Hays High will be recognizing students who achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 or above during the first quarter of the school year with a Breakfast of Champions.
“I think Breakfast of Champions is a great way to motivate students to get their GPAs up,” junior Allyson Werth said. “I think we should continue to have it.”
The Breakfast of Champions takes place following the end of each nine weeks and is sponsored by the Academic Booster Club.
“My favorite part about the event is getting to leave class for a while and sit with my friends,” Werth said.
Students will be called down during first period to the cafeteria and get the opportunity to enjoy a free breakfast.
“Last year, I didn’t get the chance to go to Breakfast of Champions, but I’m hoping to make it this year,” sophomore Danica Scheve said. “I think it will be fun to hang out with my friends and eat breakfast at school.”
The breakfast will include cinnamon rolls, bagels, fruit, juice and milk.
“I think that the Breakfast of Champions is a good method to encourage students to try their hardest on their studies,” sophomore Darian Dodd Spencer said.
