Hays High StuCo holds meeting on Oct. 22
During the Student Council meeting on Thursday, Oct. 22, the StuCo officers reviewed Homecoming activities, looking at what new things were added this year and what students’ reactions to those things were.
“I think that students were especially excited for Homecoming this semester because it returned some normalcy to the school year,” Sophomore class president Hannah Eikenberry said. “One thing that I was surprised to find was that the general census of the outdoor dance was really positive. Students really loved the added fun of yard games and food trucks, so overall, it was a very successful night.”
The StuCo officers also went over the budget and other items, including looking at their 2020-2021 shirts.
There have been many changes to the StuCo calendar for this year. They have been able to hold some events, including the Back-to-School Movie Night and Homecoming, but many other events have been rescheduled for the spring.
The members brainstormed different ideas for fundraisers and events they could hold this year. They also brainstormed ways to reach out to the student body and get better attendance at dances and events.
“We got into different groups and brainstormed ideas,” Sophomore Kaley Rejewski said. “My group came up with an Easter egg hunt, a bowling idea, spirit days for Christmas and others.”
