The students that attended the scavenger hunt posed for a group photo after having snacks and playing in the leaves.

Environmental Club had a scavenger hunt on Nov. 16 at Frontier Park, where they had to find different items related to the environment and complete tasks such as picking up trash.

They used an app called “Goose Chase” for the scavenger hunt that Environmental Club sponsor Dan Dickerson had previously used for the cross country team.

The 10 club members in attendance were split into three groups and had to complete as many of the tasks as they could within an hour.

“I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt,” junior Fernando Zarate said. “It was fun to be with our groups and go around to find everything that we needed to.”

After the scavenger hunt, they ate snacks and built a huge leaf pile in the park.

“We all had so much fun learning about the environment in an interactive way,” Environmental Club co-founder Sophia Garrison said.

The club is planning on doing similar events in the future with the goal of bettering the community, such as the trash pick-up day that they are planning next.

“We want to come together as a group and help better the community before winter kicks in,” Garrison said.
