Student Council hosts scavenger hunt on April 17
Beginning April 8, Student Council will begin selling tickets for $5 to participate in the scavenger hunt taking place on April 17.
“The scavenger hunt is an Easter egg hunt to celebrate the spring season, but it’s also a fundraiser for StuCo,” senior Shyann Schumacher said. “Our two main fundraisers are Homecoming and Indian Call, and this year we did not make as much we’d hoped. Going into next year, we hope for StuCo to have a bigger budget, so they can hopefully take more people to the summer workshop.”
The summer workshop is available to the executive officers of StuCo and takes place the summer before the next school year.
“A few of the prizes we have at the event are going to be a JBL speaker, a Bluetooth speaker, Bluetooth headphones, many giftcards and a lot of candy,” Schumacher said.
Ticket sales will take place up until April 16, and the following day students who purchased a ticket will be dismissed to participate in the event at the cross country course.
“We were brainstorming a lot of ideas, and we knew we wanted to do something with the spring season,” Schumacher said. “We wanted a way we could get students active throughout the school day, so we thought this could be a fun little ‘recess’ for the students.”
Schumacher encourages everyone to participate.
“I think it’ll be a very fun new thing,” Schumacher said. “You can win a cool new prize from it.”
