Leadership team will be conducting the 8th grade visit on Feb. 25.

After their meeting on Feb. 14, leadership team has begun planning the 8th grade visit on Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The team will meet again on Feb. 19 and Feb. 22.

“The transition from middle school to high school is so important,” counselor Troy Dale said. “We want them to feel comfortable coming into our building.”

Dale believes it is a good idea that they see their classes and the opportunities so that they are familiar.

As a part of the leadership team activities, they have always lead the tours.

“It is so that those freshman have a connection with somebody to start with,” Dale said.

The team helps with 8th grade orientation as well.

The incoming freshman may also attend the student and parent night on Feb. 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

While at the high school, the 8th graders will have the opportunity to tour the school, ask the leaders questions they may have, as well as experience the lunch set-up.

“It is important to help them early on,” Dale said. “It sets the foundation for the next four years.”
