FFA visits rodeo, stock show in Denver
Ten FFA juniors and seniors went to Denver on Jan. 18 through Jan. 21.
“This trip is for my juniors and seniors that have been in FFA for three years or more,” agriculture instructor and FFA advisor Curt Vajnar said. “This one is partially a reward since they’ve been part of the program.”
Among the places visited was Rocky Mountain Sire Services.
The FFA juniors and seniors also visited the Denver Museum of Natural History and watched “Oceans: Our Blue Planet” in IMAX Theater.
Another place visited was the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo.
The team also visited Loveland, a ski and snowboarding resort.
The last place visited was Western Plains Energy, an ethanol plant.
The students sold 40 large boxes of fruit to help fund the trip in November. The money pays for the livestock show and rodeo tickets, lodging and tours. Students pay for their own meals and skiing expenses.
“All the basics of my trips are to help them visualize and understand a large variety of agriculture,” Vajnar said.
