Students compete at state music competition
State Solo/Ensemble took place on April 28, this event only occurs once a year, and it is the only time in which music students can get a rating for their individual performance.
Making State Solo/Ensemble is a feat in it of itself, and once there, students must perform exceptionally to receive the rating of a one.
A one at state contest is fairly hard to receive, and requires excellent preparation and performance.
A one is the rating given to those whom the judge considers “outstanding,” a two is given to those deemed “excellent,” three to those considered “average,” four to those who the judge believed had a “poor” performance, usually lacking in multiple elements, and a five is given to those whose performance was “ineffective.
