Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundations will be receiving all of the funds raised at this event.

Step It Up for a Cure will be hosting a co-ed softball tournament starting at 9 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

It is $15 per person, and all of the proceeds will go to the JDRF. Each participant will receive a tee shirt and cash prizes will be rewarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.

To sign up visit their Facebook page.

According to their website, they work to fund research that will help change the lives of those diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). They are searching for a cure, “and won’t stop” until they find one. Until the day they find the cure, they will press on and drive scientific progress to develop new treatments and therapies to make everyday life with T1D “easier, safer and healthier.”

For more information on T1D and future event visit their site at jdrf.org.
