KMEA district qualifiers announced
Auditions for KMEA district and state choir on Nov. 5. Students from all over the district traveled to audition.
Three songs were given a month prior to the auditions and the audition cuts were released a week before auditions were held.
The auditions were split into eight different groups: S1 (Soprano 1), S2 (Soprano 2), A1 (Alto 1), A2 (Alto 2), T1 (Tenor 1), T2 (Tenor 2), B1 (Bass 1), and B2 (Bass 2).
Out of all of those who auditioned, the qualifiers for S1 are: freshmen Katelyn Engel and Ana States, sophomore Rebecca Anderson, junior Kyra Polifka-Whilhelm, and senior Kristen Nease.
S2 qualifiers are: sophomore Katie Vaughn, juniors Madison Karlin, Lucy Lin, Erin Muirhead and senior Anniston Webber.
A1 qualifiers are: sophomore Sydney Davis and Lindsey Pfannenstiel, juniors Shelby Knoll, Taya Randle, Emily Ricke, Paige Zamecnik and senior Jordyn Dake.
Qualifiers for A2 are: juniors Erin Adams and Kayla Satomi along with seniors Madison Crees and Rachelle Lumpkins.
Qualifying for T1 is junior Micheal Hernandez.
T2 qualifiers are: freshman Cade Swayne along with juniors Max Piene, Skyler Prickett, Ryan Will and senior Hayden Sillmon.
Qualifying for B1 are: freshman Nathan Leiker, sophomores Brett Bowles and Hayden Giebler, junior Eric Adams and Dawson Rooney and senior Eric Rorstrom.
B2 qualifiers are: seniors Shawn Ballinger and Jeremy Claude.
The qualifiers for KMEA District Choir will perform at Beach Schmidt on Dec. 10. Students qualified for District can only qualify for state if they attend District choir.
