Spring play informational meeting over auditions set for Nov. 25

Students interested in participating in this year’s Spring Play will need to attend an informational meeting Tues, Nov. 25, in Room 113 (Mr. Gasper’s room)

This year’s Spring Play is the Pulitzer Prize winning story of “Harvey”, written by Mary Chase. “Harvey” follows an amiable man named Elwood P. Dowd who claims he has an invisible friend by the name of Harvey.

Harvey is described as a six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch tall rabbit. Elwood takes Harvey everywhere and eventually his family becomes embarrassed and commits him to a sanitarium to spare them the social hurt. While there, Elwood’s sister is committed on accident, instead. The story plays out from there.

The cast calls for either six men and women, or five men and seven women. Also, three or four crew members would be greatly appreciated.

Past Spring Play participants encourage others to audition.

“Last year was the first year I’d ever done Spring Play,” senior participant Shelbie Berens said. “It was so much fun. If someone has an interest in theatre, they should definitely just go for it and try out.”

Auditions will be Dec. 10 and 11. Students looking to participate in Spring Play must be available for after-school rehearsals Jan. 13 through March 11. Show dates will be March 12 through 14.

For more information, attend the informational meeting. If one cannot attend, please drop by room 113 and talk to Mr. Gasper about it.
