School gets new water fountain

This week there was a new water fountain put into the commons area.
This new water fountain has an added in feature where you can set your water bottle in to be filled, which most students seem to enjoy.
Principal Martin Straub says the fountain was a Capital Utlay purchase, which is a fund used for building improvements. The old water fountain was 25 years old and no longer working, so a replacement was needed.
Straub says this new fountain is quicker to fill up water with, less of a mess, and there will also be one put into the freshman hallway.
“I like it, it was time for a change,” Straub said.
Most students like the new fountain, but some think it was unnecessary.
“You could have just used a regular water fountain to fill up your water bottles,” sophomore Gabby McLoughlin said.
Sophomore Tiana Lawson thinks the money for the fountain could have been used for things more beneficial to the school.
Junior Drew Young says the water fountain is a good investment.
“Students can fill water bottles quicker with it. We use less plastic now, and we can refill our bottles instead of throwing them away.
Sophomores Alyssa Bryant and Jayline Sotres like how you don’t have to go to the training room or a regular water fountain to fill your water bottles anymore.
“I love it,” Bryant said.
