The Indians suffered a loss last Friday, Senior Night. The final score was 6-35 against the Salina South Cougars. The loss of this game makes it vital that the Indians win their regular season finale to continue their season to the state playoffs.
The Indians started off in the lead, with the first touchdown of the game. The extra point was missed leaving the score at 6-0. The Cougars then kicked into gear on both offense and defense and shortly after took the lead. The score at half time was 6-21.
Half time brought the recognition of the seniors on the dance team, football team and those who participate in band or flag corps.
The Indians were plagued with penalties and struggled on offense with a strong Cougar defense. The Cougars were ready to shut down the Indians’ run game and Indians also struggled to get any passing in. The Cougars are now 7-1 for their record and for district they are in 2-0. The Indians are now 6-2 for their record and for district is 1-1. The Cougars have won the district title outright by beating the Indians. With a game against Salina Central coming up, the Indians still have a shot at making state playoffs.
