Future Farmers of America recently competed at District Land Judging at Russel on Sept. 19 and Area Land Judging at Hoxie on Sept. 25.
At Russell, six students placed. Senior Jack Polifka took second with 459 points, while senior Hayden Schnuerle took eighth with 386 points. Senior Dustin Barnes tied for tenth with junior Justin Hertel at 378. Junior Lyle Russell took seventh place with 389 points, and Andria Buchholz took ninth at 380 points. The team received second place overall with a score of 1,223.
At Hoxie, five juniors placed. Justin Hertel won first place with 442 points. Sheldon Sulzman took sixth with 390 points and Dakota Zimmerman took eighth with 387 points. Breanne Kruse had 386 points, earning her ninth, and Andria Buchholz was right behind her at 381 points and a 10th place ranking. The team overall had 1,075 points and took fourth place.
