“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” review

Netflix has come out with a variety of its own television shows that are both creative and entertaining. One especially good Netflix Original is “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” was created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.

The show is a comedy about a girl named Kimmy Schmidt who was kidnapped, along with three other girls, and forced to live in a bunker for 15 years by a crazy Reverend who was the leader of a doomsday cult. In the first episode, Kimmy and the girls are rescued and Kimmy decides she doesn’t want to go back to her home in Indiana. She is going to try to make it on her own in New York City where no one will know who she is and won’t take pity on her for being the victim of a kidnapping.

Right away, Kimmy finds a roommate and gets a job as nanny. Her roommate is a wacky, aspiring star named Titus. Her boss is an interesting person named Jacqueline who Kimmy ends up becoming good friends with. Titus, Jaqueline, and Kimmy’s landlord help Kimmy adjust to world that had been taken away from her.

The show is very good, with a weird sense of humor. I would not have thought a show about someone who had been kidnapped could be turned into a comedy, but it was. There are many laugh-out-loud moments in the show and all of the characters are so zany you never know what will happen next.

The actors and actresses on the show are all fairly talented. If you are a fan of shows like “The Office” or “Parks and Recreation” you will probably enjoy this show. Ellie Kemper, who plays Erin on “The Office” plays Kimmy on the show and I personally think she does a great job at playing eccentric characters. The show does have a very odd and unusual sense of humor, so some people may not enjoy it as much as people who find weird things funny.

The show’s second season is premiering on April 14 this year. I am very excited for the second season to come out because I loved the first season. I have high hopes that the second season will be just as good, if not better, than the first season. I give “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” an 8 out of 10. I recommend everyone to give this show a chance.
