Holiday controversy sparks among students

Seniors MKilar Otte and Cassandra Quinby wear their holiday sweaters.

Halloween only ended a few days ago, and while Thanksgiving is the nearest holiday, there are people who are already focused on Christmas.

Junior Ryanne Brerwert is very excited for Christmas.

“I love Christmas and I don’t really care about Thanksgiving,” Brerwert said. “I am already listening to Christmas music, and I’ve already ordered Christmas gifts and clothes.”

Junior Alliana Drees has been anticipating Christmas for a long time and has been listening to Christmas music since Sept.

“I like Thanksgiving, but I just love Christmas way more,” Drees said.

Senior Cassy Quinby has already gotten out her Christmas tree, her Christmas playlist, and Christmas sweaters.

While there are people who are already getting ready for Christmas, there are some who think that it’s way too early to be thinking about any holiday other than Thanksgiving.

“I feel like it’s disrespectful that people are forgetting about Thanksgiving already because it’s just as important as Christmas is,” senior Brandi Ecker said.

Senior Karolynn Wolfe is annoyed that people are already celebrating Christmas and sophomore Ady Albers thinks it’s just ridiculous.

“I am upset that people are getting ready for Christmas and it’s only the beginning of November,” senior Mason Potter said.
