Six trends that were unfortunately popular during middle school
Trends change. With that change comes remembrance of past fads and regret of participating in such fads. What once was cool is now out of style.
Silly Bandz

These bands became popular around 2010 and continued to be popular throughout most peoples middle school experience. These colorful bracelets were on the arms of many female and male students. A popular competition between students was to see who could fit the most Silly Bands on their arms. Thankfully, this trend has died out since coming into the high school.
Side-Swept bangs.

Unfortunately, many girls tried out this hairstyle during middle school. The specific cut is less popular today. More modernized versions of this hairstyle are popular.
Socks with sandals

Whether this occurred in just Hays schools or in schools nationwide is arguable. But, this trend was without a doubt popular during the years of middle school in Hays.
Blue eyeshadow

Most people who want to wear makeup begin to experiment with it during their middle school years. Unfortunately, blue eyeshadows was one of the products of experimentation.
Aeropostale EVERYTHING

Aeropostale was THE name brand during middle school. Now when you look through the hallways, there are few of these classic shirts anywhere.
Orange skin

Again with the makeup issues of middle school. Everyone wanted to be tan and no one wanted to learn how to blend their makeup to their face. Hence, orange toned skin.
