Hardworking students were rewarded for their efforts and achievements on Nov. 1 at the Breakfast for Champions.
This event takes place twice a year, once after the first nine weeks and once after the third nine weeks. Students who have a 3.0 GPA or above are invited to go to the cafeteria and have a breakfast of cinnamon rolls, bagels, fruits, juices and milk and relax alongside their friends. The event is put on by parents of the Academic Booster Club.
“The best part is that it gets me out of class and I get to eat a cinnamon roll with my friends,” Junior Bryce Baker said.
However, some students say although they are invited to Breakfast for Champions, they do not attend.
“I don’t usually go,” junior Amy Jordan said. “I usually have to practice or finish up some homework.”
Secretary Tammy Stewart says that approximately 75 percent of the student body meets the requirements to attend.
“I get to miss class,” freshman Chantz Taliaferro said. “I’m glad I get to go.”
