Basketball team prepares for sub state
Preparing for sub state and state games is a part of many teams’ seasons, including the basketball team.
Coach Rick Keltner is hopeful for the upcoming post-season games.
“We’re playing good basketball even though we’ve had a few losses in a row recently,” Keltner said. “We’ve got a good team and have lost to state ranked teams in close games. Losing by only a few points or a couple baskets to good teams just shows that even though we’ve lost, we’re playing really good.”
Keltner said they will play these same teams in sub-state.
“We’ve got to try our hardest to get better,” Keltner said. “I’d rather us play good teams and deserve to get to state instead of playing bad teams and getting to go.”
Keltner said really all they can do is try to get better because that is the only way to prepare and to win.
“We’re just trying to win the day every day, which is just general coach talk, but we really are just trying to get better every day,” Keltner said. “We always try to play better than we did yesterday. As cliché as that may sound, that really is all we can do.”
