Fort Hays will have its annual Tiger Day Saturday, Nov. 8, for all juniors, seniors, and transfer students interested in visiting campus.
“It sounds fun, if you go to Fort Hays it gives you a chance to experience the school,” junior Korryn Asuncion said.
Tiger Day will start at 8:30 a.m., and students will be able to ask teachers and coaches any questions they might have. However, some coaches will be out of town for sporting events and will be unavailable.
“I’m curious of what the campus looks like; I think this will be really interesting,” senior Faith Kohl said.
Students will also learn about scholarship opportunities, financial aid, student life and academic majors. Students will be shown around campus and will even be allowed to ask FHSU students questions about the campus and where they would suggest working.
“Some people would be interested, but I’m not interested since I’m not going to Fort Hays,” junior Aaron Jeffus said.
In addition, students will be given a free meal, T-shirt and admission to see the FHSU game against Missouri Southern for free at 2 p.m.
“I don’t care about a free game, and I live near Hays so I can visit anytime,” junior Isabelle Lee said.
Interested students should reserve a seat at http://www.fhsu.edu/admissions/Tiger-Day-RSVP/ so the admissions office knows how many students will participate. All students must be registered by Oct. 31. When you sign up, it will ask for your T-shirt size and how many guests you might be bringing. All students that have signed up will wait in the Memorial Union Sunset Lounge.
“Students are always welcome to visit,” said Judy Getty, director of student fiscal services. “But it’s better if you tell us ahead of time so we can have people ready to answer your questions.”
