Career Planning Conference

All juniors and seniors will report to the Lecture Hall in 4th hour on Oct. 21st to talk with college representatives during a career planning conference.
“This is good if you’re interested in college and you don’t know what to do,” junior Fernando Guzman said.
During the conference, which will be fourth hour on a maroon day, students will have the opportunity to discuss individual colleges and what they have to offer.
“We get out of class so I’m happy to go,” junior Michaela VonLintel said.
Students are required to go and are only excused if they are in an activity where they are not in the building. Students are expected to have made an account in the college fairs website and to print off their barcodes so students may ask the representatives questions sooner.
“I don’t think they should require students to go to the conference because some people know they don’t wanna go to college,” junior Taylor DeBoer said. “So it’s a waste of their time to be taken out of a class and then they have to make up the work even though they know they don’t wanna go to college.”
Some students are happy to get out of class, but other students are worried about missing it. This is a good opportunity to ask college reps any questions that students may have.
“I love it,” senior Kristina Herl said. “I already know what I want to do but it’s still nice talking to the representatives, it’s better for the juniors so they get a better idea for their future.”
