Boys basketball victorious at Liberal

The boys basketball team took its sixth win of the season and defeated Liberal 58-49 on Jan. 9. The Indians now have a 6-1 record on the year and are headed for Great Bend on Jan. 13.

Down 15-18 by the end of the first quarter, the Indians didn’t give up. Throughout the next two quarters, the Indians outscored the Redskins by a 31-18 margin to take a commanding 46-36 advantage into the final period.

Isaiah Nunnery had 18 points, four assists and one steal. Brady Werth and Keith Dryden were also in double digits with 17 and 13 points respectively. Werth was also the high rebounder for the Liberal game, rebounding a total of 13 shots.

Maddux Winter and Shane Berens added four points each, and Drew Young rounded out the scoring with two points.
