Spring Play Director Bill Gasper speaks to the students auditioning about what he is expecting from them.

An informational meeting was held on Nov. 29 in the lecture hall for those interested in this year’s Spring Play, The Man Who Came to Dinner.

Students were given a week to turn in their audition forms and another week to prepare. Audition materials were sent out to those who signed up Dec. 6, giving them a week to rehearse.

Auditions were held on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14, with the guys on Wednesday and the girls on Thursday. Callbacks were held on Dec. 15.

Some of the things Director Bill Gasper was looking for in students were the ability to project in the 12th street auditorium, enunciation and pronunciation.

Over the three days, 35 students auditioned and a cast of 25 will be chosen before Winter Break.

“I think this year’s play is hilarious,” junior Katie Vaughn said. “It’s full of sass and unfiltered insults.”
