The Forensics team will perform for friends and family in the Lecture Hall. This year they took first place in Liberal.

After a year of winning first and third places, the Forensics team has decided to give their families and friends opportunities to see their skills on Monday, May 15 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.

“Forensics is something that, unless you travel, you can’t ever see it,” instructor Codi Fenwick said. “When we have our home host, we can’t compete because we’re hosting. There’s not a real opportunity for parents and friends to see and experience the students competing.”

At the event, there will be the full Forensics team and then five people who will perform including senior Joe Factor, juniors Amiyah Gonzalaz, Tana Herreman, Erin Muirhead, and sophomore Yordans Cabrera.

“We’re doing it today so some of the seniors still have family in town from graduation,” Fenwick said.

At the event, different awards will be given out such as most outstanding speaker, most outstanding actor or actress, most improved speaker and most improved actor or actress.

“It will be fun and laid back,” Fenwick said. “We’ll give out their certificates that they’ve earned.”

Fenwick has high hopes for the night.

“I think it will be a great time for family members to learn about Forensics,” Fenwick said. “The students are excited to share.”
