Meninism was originally a twitter movement made in 2001 by men to support feminists but just as society changes, many term’s meanings change such is the case with meninism.

“Under its origination I support it, but I’m upset that today’s society abuses,” debate teacher Zach Butte said.

Butte said, meninism was originally a play on word of feminism and it was a term to describe men that supported feminism, but over time it was taken over and made into an illegitimate term, a platform to bring men equality instead of women.

“Meninism is honestly the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of,” junior Grace Walker said. “It’s mocking feminism, which basically shows how women can’t ask for equality (or anything for that matter) without being mocked and having white boys make everything about themselves.”

Many women don’t agree with meninism and some feel it’s an attack towards them and their equality, as if they’ll be berated just for asking for equality.

“It’s just a revolt of feminism, someone has to be that extreme radical person in order for things to change,” senior Kennan Rohlf said.

Some students feel meninism is a necessary evil to fight off extremist feminists and there will always be some form or inequality for one party or another.

Butte also supplied a few websites with more information on meninism.
