Students Discuss Thanksgiving traditions

Students have different ways from the traditional family get together to shopping when celebrating Thanksgiving.
“A traditional thanksgiving celebration is when people meet up at their family’s house and watch football or just talk together,” senior Brandon Wise said.
Students think of Thanksgiving as a time where families get together and talk about how thankful they are, while stuffing their faces with turkey, but some families celebrate in different ways.
“My family gets together and we watch the game, and we don’t even like football,” junior Michaela Von Lintel said.
Some families see watching the game as a big part of Thanksgiving, or maybe even watching the Thanksgiving parade on television.
“We put fireworks in a turkey and blow it up,” junior Hannah Blanchard said.
Some families have unique ways of celebrating that other families would never think of doing, like blowing up a turkey.
“We go to The Great Wolf lodge every year and swim and shop,” senior Sydney Vahling said.
Other families get together in different locations so they won’t have to travel as much, and while they’re there, some get some shopping done.
“Thanksgiving is pretty much family reunions and a family meal,” sophomore Keegan Chapman said.
