Girls outlook on senior photos

This time of year, seniors and more particularly senior girls are stressing about senior pictures. Some of the girls say it is easily the most stressful thing they have done in their high school career.

“Senior pictures are the most stressful thing I have done yet in my life,” senior Emily Peckham said.

Amanda Dinkel, senior, agrees and says it’s so much stress.

“I am getting my photos done by five different people so I can make sure they look good,” Dinkel said. “I don’t want my kids to grow up and think I am rachet.”

However, there is a flip side that the girls are excited and like the feeling of a large portion of time focused fully on them.

“Julisa Haines is taking my senior pictures and I’m honestly really excited,” senior Sydney Vahling said. “A large block of time will be spent all on me and that’s awesome.”

There are ways to make the process less stressful too. It can be just as much fun as it can be stressful.

“Cross Roads Photography is doing my pictures this year but I think it will be fun considering it is on my aunts farm with her horses,” senior Shelbie Berens said.

Both Peckham and Dinkel questioned why everyone makes it such a big deal.

“I guess I don’t get why there is so much stress when every picture pretty much looks the same,” Peckham said. “It shouldn’t be a competition.”
