“I’m absolutely devastated that we closed down. I loved my job and the people I worked with,” Espinosa said.

The Golden Corral in town closed its doors for good on Saturday, Oct. 29.

“We closed for good because around April business started going down,” senior Brittany Espinosa said. “We weren’t making enough money to pay for certain things we needed so we were spending money we didn’t have.”

Everyone except for the managers found out about the closing the day before it happened.

“The managers found out two days before official closing,” Espinosa said

Golden Corral was Espinosa’s first actual job.

“I loved it,” Espinosa said. “I looked forward to going every day. It was a good job in my opinion because we were like a big, messed up family. Sometimes we disagreed, but for the most part everyone was extremely welcoming and kind. I could count on people I worked with to be there if I needed, and they really taught me a lot in the 6 months I worked there.

The closing of the restaurant has had an impact on Espinosa’s life.

“I’m absolutely devastated that we closed down,” Espinosa said. “I loved my job and the people I worked with. I haven’t been making money so I haven’t been able to pay for certain things, so I’m borrowing money from my mom again when I need it but fully intend on paying her back.”
