Students watch anime after school
If you’re looking for a way to spend your Wednesdays, Anime Club might be right for you.
Instructor Jolene Windholz hosts Anime Club every first and third Wednesdays of the month. Windholz described the group as a welcoming environment.
“We started the club as a place to watch anime,” Windholz said. “Anime is misunderstood by a lot of people, and we watch only G or PG.”
Senior Ben Rose established the group after enjoying an anime club at his old school and wanted a similar experience in Hays.
At a typical meeting, there are several snack options such as chips and honey buns, and they watch several different shows.
In Japan, anime is considered to be any form of animation, but in America it is more commonly thought of as Japanese-style animation.
