State music qualifiers to compete Saturday

A brave 34 student musicians will be taking the stage April 25, in Andover, Kan., for the state music festival.

Orchestra students competing are freshman Brendan Chapman, freshman Dawson Rooney, junior Kaylee Brin, sophomore Marie Reveles, sophomore Rachelle Lumpkins, freshman Skylar Weilert, senior Tristan Callis, freshman Trinity Callis, and sophomore Tanner Callis.

Soloists representing band are senior Alex Crowley, senior Ben Rajewski, junior Grace Walker, sophomore Griffin Lowry, junior Kinsey Ackerman, freshman Nick Davidson, sophomore Rachelle Lumpkins, and sophomore Sam Crowley. Joining these soloists will be a percussion ensemble that also qualified.

State vocal participants consist of junior Brandon Davidson, senior Emily McPherson, freshman Erin Muirhead, freshman Ivy Walker, junior Jared Thom, sophomore Kristen Nease, sophomore Madison Crees, freshman Madison Karlin, senior Max Befort, senior Quin Brungardt, junior Rachel Nansel, freshman Ryan Will, freshman Sarah Wyse, freshman Shelby Knoll, senior Sydney Vahling, and junior Taylor Leiker.

Each musician will take home a rating and gain the experience that comes with competition.
