Tennis competes in three meets in a week

The varsity tennis teams traveled to Salina on April 27, Hoisington on April 28 and Colby on April 29.

During Salina’s meet, the first round of bracket play started on April 21 before rain halted the meet early. The meet resumed where it left off on April 27.

Sophomore Henry Fitzthum and senior Ryan Schuckman placed eighth while playing doubles with a 1-3 record.

Sophomores Kaiden Bunger and Carsen Riat finished in 15th while playing doubles with a 1-3 record.

Sophomore Xavier Catura finished in 13th while playing singles with a 1-3 record

Sophomore Will Linenberger finished in 15th while playing singles with a 1-3 record.

The next day after the Salina meet, an almost entirely different varsity team competed in Hoisington.

Playing Doubles No. 1, sophomores Tacoma Augustine and Corbin Luck finished with a 3-2 record.

Playing Doubles No. 2, sophomores Ty Dempsey and Leo Hernandez finished with a 2-3 record.

Playing Singles No. 1, Linenberger finished with a 1-4 record.

Playing Singles No. 2, freshman Mason Schleicher finished with a 2-3 record.

Following the Hoisington meet, Hays headed to Colby and placed second overall.

Playing No. 1 Doubles, Fitzthum and Schuckman placed first with a 3-1 record.

Playing No. 2 Doubles, Bunger and Riat placed second with a 3-1 record.

Playing No. 1 Singles, Clark placed third with a 2-2 record.

Playing No 2. Singles, Catura placed second with a 1-1 record.
