On Nov. 12, senior Dylan Dreiling officially signed to play baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, Tenn. He signed in the HHS cafeteria surrounded by family, friends, teammates and coaches.
Dreiling actually committed to Tennessee before his freshman year.
“I chose Tennessee because it felt like home when I visited,” Dreiling said. “They had started talking to me the summer before my eighth grade year, and I didn’t feel the need to wait because it was the school that I wanted to go to.”
Dreiling’s family has a significant link to baseball. His father, Doug Dreiling, has coached a lot of the teams Dylan Dreiling has played on, and his grandfather, Frank Leo, coached baseball at Hays High for 39 years and has been coaching the Hays Larks baseball team for 40 years.
“I like how everyone in my family understands the game,” Dylan Dreiling said., “It also pushes me to become better.”
