Volleyball plays Nickerson, Smoky Valley on Sept. 7
The Hays High volleyball team faced off the Nickerson Panthers and the Smoky Valley Vikings on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
In the Indians’ first game at Nickerson, Hays started well, winning the first set, 25-21. However, after struggles throughout the second and third sets, the Indians lost two in a row, 22-25 and 19-25, to lose the match 2-1, leaving the Indians at a record of 3-3.
The Indians later played against a non-conference team in the Smoky Valley Vikings. Hays put up a fight, but ultimately could not come up with the win, losing two sets in a row, 12-25 and 26-28, losing 2-0.
Hays now sits at a record of 3-4, with their upcoming game Sept. 9 against Dodge City.
