The Indians were able to pick up a win against their rivals The Great Bend Panthers, and improve their record to 2-0. The Hays High defense was able to hold the Panthers to negative nine yards for the entire game.

On Sept. 10, the Indian football team hosted its rival, the Great Bend Panthers, and won 51-0.

Senior Roy Moroni scored a 25-yard touchdown run on the second play of the game, and this was just the beginning for the Indian offense.

Sophomore Malik Bah followed with a touchdown of his own, and that was followed by two touchdown passes from senior Jaren Kanak.

Going into the second quarter, the score was 28-0, and the scoring deficit would only get larger throughout the second quarter.

Moroni would score another touchdown, which was followed up by a safety from a Great Bend snap that was butchered.

Kanak would throw another touchdown pass to senior Carson Kieffer, and Kanak followed that with a touchdown of his own.

The second half opened with a score of 51-0, which brought the continuously running clock for the rest of the game.

The Indians would not score again but were able to prevent the Panthers from scoring.

The Hays High defense was able to hold the Panthers to negative nine yards for the entire game.

The Indians are now 2-0 on the season and will travel to Liberal on Sept. 17 for their second game of Western Athletic Conference play.
