The Hays High School boys soccer team is a very young team this season with not one senior on the team. The varsity team is filled with mostly juniors, although there are some sophomores and freshmen on the team.

The first game of the season was Aug. 31 in Garden City. It was a hot day in Garden City for the first match. Before the varsity game, the junior varsity team had a game in which it ended up losing 7-0 to Garden City.

For the varsity game, it was a hard-fought battle between both teams. Hays was solid on the defensive end as well as upfront. The game was tied 0-0 throughout most of the matchup, but in the last couple of minutes, Garden City scored two quick goals to win the game 2-0.
