The Hays High School Indian baseball picked up another pair of wins against Russell on Mar. 29. It won the first game 16-1 and with the score of 12-2, it takes the second.

In the first game, the Indians scored three runs in the first, one in the second, four in the third, and eight in the fourth. The fourth inning is where Russell scored their one run.

Throughout the game, the Indians produced 12 hits and had no errors, while Russell had two hits and three errors.

Senior Palmer Hutchison pitched three innings and had one hit and five strikeouts. Then freshman Dylan Dreiling came in to pitch one inning and he had one walk, one hit, and two strikeouts.

The second game started off with each team scoring one run then the Indians added five more runs in the second, the four more in the fourth then finishing off the game it scored two in the fifth.  Russell’s other run was scored in the third inning.

The Indians had another errorless game and had 12 hits, Russell added one more error this game than last game, making it to a total of four errors in this game. Russell also produced eight hits this game.

Senior Cody Peterson pitched a total of four innings and had six hits, one walk, and four strikeouts. Then senior Willie Sennett came in for one inning and had two hits and strikeouts.

The Indians are 4-0 on their season and will be playing next at home versus Washburn Rural on Apr. 1.
