The Lady Indians are all smiles after being able to compete at the state meet.

The Lady Indians competed at the State cross country meet Saturday Oct 27 at the KU Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence. As a team the girls placed 12th in the state, with sophomore Allison Shubert leading the girls with a 60 place finish in 21:42.0.

“I feel like I ran my best I could have at that moment,” Shubert said. “I wish I would have had a faster time, but I am still very happy with the outcome.”

Others who competed were junior Yesenia Maldonado, 62nd, 21:42.4; freshman Landri Dotts, 79th, 22:30.07; sophomore Claire Shippy, 83rd, 22:34.8; freshman Lainey Hardman, 91st, 23:14.6; sophomore Cristina Leos, 92nd, 23:15.1 and senior Ady Albers, 97th, 24:18.
