Indian softball splits at Andover Tri on March 27

Sophomore Madelyn Waddell looking in a pitch that was called a ball by the umpire at Andover.

The Indian softball team traveled to Andover for the Andover Tri where they split losing to Andover 10-2 and beating McPherson 7-6.

In the first game the Indians only scored two in the sixth inning while Andover scored one in the first inning, sixth in the third, one in the fifth and two in the sixth.

The Indians had a total of three hits and three errors in the game while Andover had 10 hits and two errors.

Junior Kaitlyn Brown pitched for the first game and 10 hits, seven walks, five errors, and six strike outs.

The second the Indians scored four in the second, one in the third, and two in the seventh, while McPherson scored four in the first and two in the fourth.

The Indians ended the game with 11 hits and four errors while McPherson ended the game with seven hits and one error.

Jaysa Wichers a junior was pitching the second game and had seven hits, five errors, two walks and one strike out.

The Indians are 3-1 on the season and will play on Mar 29 for the Maize Tri.
